How To Read Your Results
* Rate Center = [community in brackets] -OR- Community name(s) before any + sign (if no community name in brackets).
* Community name only = Rate center and/or service location.
* Community name(s) PLUS others AFTER the + sign are communities served by the prefix. Many prefixes serve more than one community. The community(s) before the + sign is the "rate center" unless there is a rate center shown in brackets.
* Wireless prefixes ONLY show the "rate center" as there is NO "physical location" of the wireless device.

If you received the message "Not Found" and are absolutely sure the area code/prefix combination shown above is part of a "valid" phone number (double-check to be sure you entered it correctly) it is likely a brand new prefix. We add the new prefixes every month so if is not there today it will be in the near future. BUT, IF YOU GOT THE PHONE NUMBER ON A CALLER ID UNIT: Even though your caller ID unit may display a phone number, that does NOT mean that the area code and prefix combination actually exists or is correct. Many times telemarketers and others use FAKE information. Therefore that is probably why the area code and prefix combination you are looking for was "not found" in our database. However, if you KNOW the area code and prefix DOES exist (for example, you KNOW there is a phone that has this number assigned to it) and we do not have the prefix listed, PLEASE let us know. Use the "feedback" link in the left column. Thank you.

Before writing, make SURE you know what an Area Code and Prefix are. If a phone number is (AAA) PPP-NNNN, the AAA part is the Area Code and the PPP part is the Prefix. This is very important to properly use our system. Please don't tell us that you cannot find the AAA part because if it exists we have a link to its search page at HERE. Please note that prefixes start with 2 through 9. NO prefixes start with 0 or 1 (they are "spoofed" prefixes).

Search pages for new area codes are added many months before they are activated so when prefixes start being assigned for a new area code the search page will already be there.
